Royal Mail Price Increases

The end of the tax year brings with it many things - most notably persistent headaches for financial staff across the country.

Unfortunately, this year it has also brought another postage cost increase. The cost of sending a first class letter has increased by 3p to 39p and the cost of a second class letter has increased by the same margin to 30p. These revised prices came into effect as of 6th April 2009.

At the considerable risk of sounding like a broken record, in these 'adverse economic conditions' this is the last thing UK businesses sending a high volume of financial documentation need. It will comfort financial managers to know, then, that there is an alternative method of sending and receiving remittances, purchase orders and other financial documentation on the market. By sending these documents electronically, a company stands to make considerable cost savings, reduce its carbon footprint and vastly increase efficiencies across the board. This in turn contributes to a more polished business model and also eliminates postal delays in addition to the other inadequacies within the service.
