We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time and you are therefore advised to keep up to date with any changes by regularly reviewing it.

Purpose of this Policy

We have a firm commitment to privacy. Although primarily a business website, intended for business to business use, it would be usual for you to give us a small amount of personal information if you choose to register to use our sites, such as your name. This statement aims to provide details about the information, including personal information, we collect from our site and what happens to it.

When we refer to “personal information” in this privacy policy, we mean information which identifies you as an individual, or is capable of doing so. Accordingly, we may hold and use data about you in your capacity as a consumer, a business customer, as an individual acting on behalf of a business customer, as a shareholder, or in any other capacity when you visit our websites.

If you are visiting any part of our websites or using any of our services, by continuing to do so, you indicate your agreement to our use of your personal information as set out in this privacy policy.

Linked Sites

The sites contain links to other sites. We are not responsible or liable for the content or privacy practices of any of these other sites. A link from our sites to another site does not imply any recommendation or approval of the other site, only that it may be relevant to our visitors.

Collected Information

We collect general information about users, none of which can be traced to any individual. This information is used to help us monitor site activity and prioritise maintenance and improvements to the sites.

We make limited use of “cookies” (for more information about cookies please go to www.allaboutcookies.org which explains how cookies work and how you can manage their use), for example in order to identify and recognise registered customers, so that they do not have to re-register whenever they access our sites.

Our sites also contain various forms to enable users to request information, products and services. Any information provided in these forms is used to send out the information requested. We may also use it from time to time to get in touch with the user to keep them up to date with our products, services, special offers and technical advances. Users may opt-out of this service when filling in the form, or at any time afterwards as described in the choice/opt-out section below.

The time period for which we keep information varies according to what the information is used for. In some cases, there are legal requirements to keep data for a minimum period. Unless there is a specific legal requirement for us to keep the information, we will retain it for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected or for which it is to be further processed.

If your personal information is transferred out of Europe

Countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) are required to have a similar standard of protection of personal information but this is not always the case in countries outside of the EEA. In the unlikely event that we transfer any personal information outside the EEA, we would take steps to ensure that your data would be given adequate protection as required by the Data Protection Act 1998.

Business Partners

Albany Software Ltd. has a network of resellers and also a number of other business partners. However, we will not make any information collected from our website available to anyone else (including resellers and business partners) except where this is expressly requested or permitted by the user concerned, or where we are required to do so by law.
