EISCD (Extended Industry Sorting Code Directory)
The Extended Industry Sorting Code Directory is a central list of all sort codes that participate in one or more of the UK’s clearing services.- e.g. Direct Debits, Direct Credits and Faster Payments.
The directory is used to decide whether an account number is valid for the bank and branch represented by its sort code and also shows what type of payments the bank account can receive.
All Bacs software solutions, including Albany ePAY, are required to make these validation checks before sending a transaction to Bacs. That way, an organisation can be certain there are no errors present in the submission.
