2. Colas Ltd selects Albany Software to facilitate same-day payments
UK service provider, Colas Ltd, has selected Albany ePAY to facilitate access to the Faster Payments Service and provide a viable alternative to CHAPS payments. Scott Blackwell, Financial Accountant at Colas comments, “Using Faster Payments instead of CHAPS to process the weekly payroll for our 1,400 employees, we would expect to save approximately £20k in bank charges in a single disaster recovery situation. Over and above these cost savings, there are substantial time-savings in the submissions process and added flexibility to send same-day payments within an extended time-frame.” Read more » |

The European Central Bank issues a warning that European legislators need to help by implementing mandatory migration dates in order to ensure that SEPA is completed within an acceptable time frame. The preference is for this to occur by the end of 2012 for credit transfers and the end of 2013 for Direct Debits. Is this realistic and is SEPA even likely to happen for corporates? Or should we rather forge ahead making international payments in any global currency via available and reliable web services? |
