Albany Software raises money for local charity
Albany Software aims to have several charity
events every year. In September the chosen charity was local
Alton based charity - Cardiac Rehab.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre helps those who reside in North
Hampshire to get back to work as soon as possible after suffering
from heart problems. The Centre was opened in 1997 after 20
years of hiring rooms at Alton Sports Centre. An appeal raised
the £750,000 to build the Centre, totally from voluntary contributions.
It has helped over 6,000 people since then, with currently 700
people regularly exercising in the gym and attending pre and
post surgery information sessions. The Centre's running costs
are currently almost £200,000 a year.
Albany Software ran a charity day involving a cake sale, Tombola
and car wash, and we managed to raise a brilliant £200.00 -
which we hope will help to make a difference at the centre.
Our achievement was covered in the local paper, The Alton Herald.
