Wolters Kluwer rolls out BacsTEL-IP software from Albany to
guarantee fast, secure payments
April 2006: Information and consultancy provider
opts for ALBACSip
to process 300 transactions per day, backed up by reliable support
service from Albany.
Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd one of the UK's leading providers of
business information and consultancy services with expertise
in Human Resources, Health & Safety and Tax & Accounting, has
implemented ALBACSip,
the BacsTEL-IP compliant software from eTransactions author
Albany Software. The ALBACSip
software will provide Wolters Kluwer with higher levels of security,
faster payment processing and improved reporting utilising the
new IP-based Bacs platform.
Wolters Kluwer (UK) Ltd needed to migrate from its existing
Bacs system to the BacsTEL-IP platform to comply with Voca's
next-generation electronic payment delivery channel. Wolters
Kluwer had been using Albany's ALBACS product successfully for
the last eight years in which time they had developed a strong
relationship with Albany based upon the reliability of the product
and the high level of support service that Albany provided.
Paresh Samat, Management Accountant at Wolters Kluwer (UK)
Ltd, comments, "Our previous experience of Albany Software provided
us with the confidence that we needn't look elsewhere when it
came to choosing BacsTEL-IP compliant software. Whenever we
have needed technical support they have responded quickly and
effectively within our required time frame, taking a simple
step-by-step approach to resolving queries, typically in just
one call."
Samat continues, "We carry out on average 300 transactions
a day, collecting payments from our clients and making payments
to clients who have won tribunals. Although we went through
a due diligence process when selecting BacsTEL-IP software,
where money is involved you want to make sure that things run
smoothly, and based on Albany's track record we knew that their
software would ensure we can provide a seamless service to customers
at all times."
The new BacsTEL-IP platform will provide Wolters Kluwer with
a number of improved security features all based around the
latest smart-card and PKI technology. Moving to a new modern
system was essential not only to provide Wolters Kluwer (UK)
Ltd with enhanced security for the 300 transactions it carries
out per day, but also to provide a robust system that could
offer comprehensive back-up facilities and desktop reporting
information, as well as improved transaction speeds.
Samat concludes, "The payment process is certainly a business-critical
function, where failure to make reliable and automated payments
can have a significant effect on the business as well as damaging
relations. Since implementing the ALBACSip
system all our supplier payments, client payments and Direct
Debits have been paid and collected on time, every time. This
clearly demonstrates how reliable the ALBACSip
product is and why we have come to rely on this software to
help manage our business on a day-to-day basis."
