Barclays, IPP and Albany provide educational seminar on the UK Faster Payments Service

Albany's first UK Faster Payments seminar for 2009 was held at the London Chamber of Commerce in London on Wednesday 17th June. An outstanding 92% of attendees rated this informative and educational seminar as either Very Good or Excellent.

The seminar included expert speakers from Barclays Bank, The Institute of Payroll Professionals and Albany Software, all providing their insight into the UK Faster Payments Service. First off, Bob Larkham, Head of Payment Industry Relations at Albany, spoke of how far UK Faster Payments have now come, why companies should be using the service and what Albany has been doing to prepare. Marcus Bateman, Senior Product Manager at Barclays, then took to the floor to introduce Direct Corporate Access for UK Faster Payments and what it entails, with detailed information on how it works. He went on to explain where the scheme is now headed and what companies should be doing next. Karen Thomson, Associate Director of Policy & Research at the Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP), then provided a presentation on the significance of Faster Payments for the payroll world, including the importance of deadlines being met and the benefits that the service will offer.

Georgia Leybourne, Sales & Marketing Director at Albany, was up next explaining how Albany can help a smooth and easy transition to Faster Payments once the service is here. Georgia showed delegates a demonstration of Albany ePAY, which will enable UK Faster Payments. She also provided delegates with a demonstration of our ALBANYverify product, which proved to be useful and informative to many in attendance.
