The premise behind Albany’s bank account validation tools is simple: to eliminate data errors in bank account and sort code information before attempting to use them to collect or send funds. ALBANYverify is a powerful bank account validation tool, designed to crosscheck financial data against the Extended Industry Sorting Code Directory (EISCD) to ensure its validity. It can validate UK bank information, BICs, IBANs and credit card numbers.

The software is available in several forms to satisfy varying business requirements:

  • Standalone/desktop application: Provides quick and simple batch bank account and sort code verification at the touch of a button. It can be installed on a server, in addition to a single workstation.


  • Standard API (Application Programming Interface): Exists to provide users with a way to embed the verification functionality into their own systems – a CRM, accounts program or otherwise. This variant is the raw code, or ‘engine’ of the software.


  • ActiveX API for Windows: Enables interaction with other ActiveX technologies and essentially works in the same way as the Standard API, but is best for companies wishing to utilise verification on a website.


  • Socket server: Sits on a server and accepts validation calls from computers running any operating system for which a socket server client can be produced.
