how does ALBANYverify API work?
ALBANY
verify API has been written to enable developers
to integrate the validation of bank account numbers and credit
card details within their existing applications / business layer.
Available in a number of different forms, depending on your development
environment and platform, the
API
can be programmed to be accessed from within your required application
using a scripting language (such as VBScript).
Once programmed, ALBANYverify API works 'behind
the scenes', performing a series of validation checks on sort
codes and account numbers, including checking the existence
of the sort code against the ISCD
(Industry Sorting Code Directory), full modulus checking
of the UK account number and full modulus checking of the sort
code and account number combination.
ALBANYverify API can also be used to validate
cross-border payment data for 19 European Country formats (click
here for a full list of the countries supported). The validation
of European data includes format and modulus checking of many
European domestic account numbers, format and country code checking
of Swift Bank
Identification Codes (BICs) and format, modulus and country
checking of International
Bank Account Numbers (IBANs).
