ALBANYverify is a piece of software that verifies bank account and sort code details, for the purpose of filtering out incorrect information before it enters your databases.
Checking the accuracy of account details helps to reduce the number of returned payments and the resulting costly, time consuming correction process.
Dealing with incorrect financial data can have a significantly negative effect on cash flow, and:
- delay the setting-up of a Direct Debit, preventing the collection of funds
- cause payments to be rejected , thus potentially incurring late payment fees

The software crosschecks data against the Extended Industry Sorting Code Directory to ensure its validity. The EISCD contains information pertaining to all bank offices that participate in one or more of the UK clearing services – e.g. Direct Debits, Direct Credits, and Faster Payments. Updates to the data set are provided via the internet on a monthly basis.
